Cade (MacKenzie)

Star Captain

Alshain Star

Summoner A

Star Captain Cade of the MacKenzie Bloodhouse was born to the Obsidian Fang Sibko on Alshain. In his early years of training, he excelled at all tasks put before him and rapidly rose to the head of his sibko, often testing out in the top ten percent. As he grew older, he stood out from his fellows for another reason, he stood several centimeters shorter than others in his Sibko. Still, he was lean, well-muscled and seemed to possess an unending endurance.

In his seventeenth year, Cade and a rival member of his sibko came to blows in a circle of equals that is still talked about on Alshain. The two were considered the best hand to hand fighters in the sibko and the fight was an epic confrontation. When the dust settled, Cade walked from the circle, bruised, bloodied and with a broken ribs but his rival lay dead with a snapped neck.

During his trial of position, he surprised his fellows by choosing a Summoner as his Omnimech. Making use of the superior mobility of the machine, he strung out and killed two of his opponents, earning the rank of Star Commander.

For two years, he served on the Draconis Combine front, distinguishing himself in various raids and small unit actions. Developing a reputation as a solid tactician and a creative thinker, something unusual for the conservative Ghost Bears of the Dominion, he was promoted to Star Captain as the Clan began a new program; creating units to use as trouble shooting forces to deal with the constant issues the Dominion has faced.

Cade was the first commander chosen for the new experimental unit, called the Growling Bears

Zephyr (Jorgensson)

Star Commander

Alshain Star

Grizzly

Zephyr has been singled out ever since he first emerged from the iron womb he was born in. While the rest of his sibko had ordinary appearances, something within Zephyr’s genes that no one can explain caused him to be born with pale skin, ice blue eyes and snow white hair. Those who met him were immediately struck by his appearance, and some even went so far as to wonder if he was some kind of special child. He eventually acquired the nickname “Ghost” for his uncanny and easily recognizable appearance.

When Zephyr and his sibkin first began their training, the instructors were impressed by his skill in the martial arts, as well as the speed at which he learned. What also drew their attention was Zephyr’s personality; he showed himself to be strong willed and commanding, yet he sheltered undying loyalty for those who won his trust. His views and opinions are often unconventional for a member of the Clans, which has ended up slightly hampering his progress towards a Bloodname over time.

By the time he was old enough to participate in his Trial of Position and join the Clan’s Touman, he had become an excellent MechWarrior who had the attention of several important people and was considered by many to be a Ristar. When Zephyr successfully completed his Trial of Position, he was initially assigned to the 5
th Bear Guards of Omega Galaxy.

Tor

Star Commander

Toffen Star

Elemental Standard

Star Commander Tor is fresh out of the Sibko and this is his first assignment, he scored high in his class on tactics, unarmed and armed combat as well as leadership skills, however with most warriors freshly out of the sibko he is naive and not worldly, having won his trial of position with two victories out of three he has earned the rank of star commander and as an new officer his Trial is really only just beginning.

His time in sibko was a time of bonding for Tor and despite the rigors and brutality of the course he enjoyed it thoroughly. Particularly his trothkin Christina, who he was very close with almost so much that it cost him his warrior rank. His teachers spent time assessing the pair of them for un clan like behavior and although they passed the assessment the two of them agreed to stay apart until the trial had ended. Now that they are both warriors of clan Ghost Bear they are looking to meet up again. however being assigned separate units will not make it easy.

After numerous successful missions, Cade seems to have justified the Clan's decision.

Cade is usually seen with a black on gray shemagh around his neck, to conceal a knife scar from a Sword of Light soldier.

Benjamin
Star Captain
Battle Trinary
Elemental Armor
Age: 30

Benjamin was born into a sibko belonging to Clan Cloud Cobra. During that Clan’s forced exodus to the Inner Sphere, the jumpship carrying the Golden Pharaoh sibko, their instructors, and other refugees from the Homeworlds, became stranded after a misjump. They ended up in an unnamed and uncharted solar system that possessed a full solar system of planets. While a team of technicians continued to work on repairing the crippled jumpship, the dropships detached and burned for the planets. They discovered a planet that was too hot for human life in most regions except the poles, which contained inland seas and some dense rainforest. The stranded survivors of the misjump were forced to make-do.  One dropship, too damaged in the misjump, failed to survive reentry, the others made it to the surface and landed near the magnetic north pole.

This was in 3076 and Benjamin, then just fourteen years old, would spend the next four years of his life carving out a basic existence in the jungle with a group of 308 survivors. They never heard from the jumpship again and their own needs forced them to cannibalize many of the dropships’ systems for useful parts and equipment. Fortunately one of the dropships had been carrying lower castemen supplies, including water filtration and prefabricated structures that the survivors were able to use to construct a working sustainable settlement. They faced day-to-day challenges that included disease, the wildlife and nature’s sheer wrath. They carved out a life for themselves among the dangerous jungles of the world they came to call “New Homer” in honor of their previous homeworld.

In 3080 rescue finally arrived. A Rasalhague Dominion jumpship flotilla, traveling on a return voyage from Clan Snow Raven Space, dispatched a lone jumpship to scout the uninhabited system that was a single jump off their voyage’s path. They found the disabled jumpship, which was broadcasting a years-old mayday signal, still powered by the jumpship’s solar sail. The repair crew had perished years before, but had ensured that their message for help would continue to broadcast long after they were gone.

The jumpship flotilla was called to that system and landed a dropship on New Homer to investigate the radio signals they were detecting. They found the improvised colony and rescued 242 survivors.

The Golden Pharaoh Sibko was returned to warrior training in their new Clan. Of the 31 cadets who were rescued alive, the 18-year-olds resumed a strict regime of warrior training. Although some claimed the cadets were too “wild” to be effective warriors, the sibko beat the averages and saw ten cadets become warriors.

Benjamin was among them, becoming a warrior and Elemental of House Noruff.

Benjamin would serve in the Third Bear Regulars for three years. He eventually gave a stand-out performance in a battle against the Draconis Combine. That would see him moved to front-line service in the 243rd Battle Cluster and promoted to Point Commander.

The next five years would be a relatively stagnant time for Benjamin. He proved his worth in multiple battles, but as the touman shrunk, opportunities for promotion were few and far between for someone of such a lesser House. Even worse, he considered himself a devout Crusader. In such a “Warden” Clan, that seemed to cast a shadow over his otherwise exemplary codex. In 3090, Benjamin requested and was accepted into a new unit, and a promotion to Star Commander, where he hoped he would have a chance to rejuvenate his career.

Savannah Bekker
Star Captain
Striker Binary
Linebacker D
Age: 28

Savannah has no memory of her early years. She was 12 when the Clan Hell’s Horses assaulted her home planet. During the fierce fighting between invader and Clan Ghost Bear defenders, destruction to civilian and military areas occurred. Savannah and her sibko along with her instructors made it to their assigned shelter. A bunker penetrating missile hit the shelter. After two days, Star Colonel Vivian Bekker, a Ghost Bear Cluster commander, and a rescue team opened the shelter. They were all shocked to see the blood, gore, and the stink of death. Savannah was the sole survivor. Covered in blood and gore, Savannah walked out of the shelter calmly and greeted Star Colonel Vivian Bekker. Star Colonel Bekker took Savannah to the medic station. There she got food and water. The med techs cleaned up Savannah. Star Colonel Bekker had Savannah placed into another sibko. The instructors reported Savannah's performances to Star Colonel Bekker.

Savannah became interested in martial arts and drawing. Savannah worked hard and impressed her trainers and superiors. During her trial of position, Savannah quickly eliminated two mechs and was about to get her third when she took an unfortunate hit that disabled her mech.

With the completion of her training, Savannah was assigned to Ghost Bear’s Delta Galaxy, 140th Striker Cluster, Beta Striker Trinary as a Star Commander. During her next three years, she proved her command ability and battle prowess. She was rewarded and placed in command of a Nova. When her Star Captain was killed in action, she participated in a trial of position to replace the Star Captain. She failed in the trial.

Since joining the Growling Bears, Savannah has trutly shown her potential as a Ristar. Transfering into the unit as a simple mechwarrior, she has worked her way up to Executive Officer and commader the Striker Binary. During her tour with the Growling Bears, they were elevated to the 12th Bear Guards.

In 3091, Savannah Bekker earned her bloodname. She has been at the forefront of every engagement the Growling Bears have taken part in. In addition to her normal duties, she has appointed herself as unit hand to hand combat instructor and works frequently with her warriors, honing their skills for Trials yet to come.
